Excellent and sensitive service for my daughter who has learning difficulties. I was allowed into the procedure room, was able to support my daughter, and really valued the opportunity to view the images obtained during the colonoscopy. I was able to ask lots of questions, and received answers that were appropriate to my level of understanding. Despite the obviously tight time constraints, the doctor and the team were able to acknowledge and respond to both my daughter's and also to my anxiety, ensuring that we were both as comfortable as possible during the procedure. The information provided and the knowledge I gained will enable me to care for and manage my daughter's health situation much more effectively into the future.

Miss McCarthy is an incredibly caring surgeon. She has always made time for me. I have been through a pretty horrendous ordeal but with her help I am starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. She has always taken my thoughts and ideas into consideration and bends over backwards to help her patients. As a junior doctor myself I have worked with many Doctors and surgeons and I am yet to come across a surgeon like her. She really cares, she really understands the impact that pain and uncertainty can have on a person’s life. She is highly skilled and I would fully recommend having a consultation with her.

I have received care under Kathryn McCarthy on many occasions over the past 11 years. Since I was transferred to her after Mr Tony Dixon was suspended in 2017 and subsequently dismissed I have seen her a lot as she is now my main Colorectal surgeon and performed my latest surgery in March 2019. I find her a breath of fresh air, she is always happy, bubbly and very optimistic. She has the ability to connect with you and actually listens to what you have to say. My condition is complicated which has meant me being admitted into hospital on many occasions and she never makes me feel I am wasting her time. She tells me the door is always open and allows me to email her via her excellent secretary if I have any new concerns.

The consultant was attentive, listened to my concerns and answered them fully. An appropriate referral was made to provide further support for my condition.

I attended Prime Endoscopy Bristol today for an Colonoscopy. I encountered 7 staff from reception through the procedure and in to recovery. All staff were excellent. The staff who welcomed me were helpful, knowledgeable and reassuring. When I was taken in for the procedure, the 3 staff, lead by Miss McCarthy, immediately put me at ease. Everything was explained. Any discomfort that I experienced was immediately addressed. Everything was explained throughout and I then received a written report before leaving. In recovery, nothing was to much trouble. I was reassured, made comfortable and given ample time to 'recover'. (I actually felt OK very soon) This whole experience was far better than I could have anticipated
